Master Chief coming to Halo Reach?

A small cameo from Master Chief would be nice but I would prefer that they kept him away from the main story. I really would like the story to just focus on Noble Squad.
Joe Staten has already hinted that Buck would make an appearance in Reach and I don't think that Bungie would tease this "big" event if it was a Master Chief appearance.

I agree with ghost23, Master Chief has been the main protagonist for the last three true Halo titles and it's a nice change to have the focus on some other Spartan's.

Personally I would love them to do a game about Grey Team, they were formed from the three SPARTAN-II candidates who were the most difficult to control during training and they were the only operational SPARTAN-IIs not present at the fall of Reach.

Compared to the other Spartan's, Gray Team's training placed additional emphasis on individual thought and action. This made them suitable to execute and survive covert missions deep behind enemy lines. Their assignments focused on disruption of enemy operations followed by a stealthy extraction.

Basically there are Spartan's equivalent of the SAS!

Master Chief was on Reach (in orbit) so there is a chance he might make an appearance, somehow. Maybe a flashback level?

The mainline Halo games are ment for Master Chief.And Master Chief will be back in Halo 4(it's been pretty much confirmed)

A cameo is ok. But I wanna see the gameplay, not only that but play the game first.
