Some people have like the Recon symbol, or I have also seen the Halo 2 and 3 logos and the AR, next to their name in the matchmaking. How do you get this?

It's a visual flair that is used to show off how long you have been with the halo franchise. I played Halo 2 on XBL and therefore i have the "2" symbol next to my gamertag. Go on bungie.net to activate this.
