What I'm saying is, why take this stuff to heart? These "bullies" aren't necessarily evil people out to kill, it's just in human nature to pick on the weak (no offense). Though everyone is way more mature in college. Have you started college yet? If so I'd be shocked if people are still like that. It's usually just a typical school-kid thing, to get entertainment when in such a dull routine.

This was posted in the Harry Potter thread, and I wanted to reply, but I didn't want to go off topic or anything, so I made a new topic to which it's relevant.

Yes, I'm still getting quite badly bullied. And no, people haven't matured that much.

And also, you must be asking... why was I bullied? Answer is simple:...

Due to the fact that I still have an Indian Accent.

Yes. Just today, this dude tripped me up, then said something to me (he was actually mocking my accent). I've been bullied (seriously) my entire life due to this.

We answer it with your question...

Quote :
why take this stuff to heart?

Well? Because it causes you physical discomfort, at the least...
Also, it can cause depression. This sort of stuff happening in real life is nothing like it is on the internet. If it happens on the internet, you can run away, and there's no real problem. In real life? You can't do anything without there being consequences (like the loss of your education). Leads me onto another point...

entertainment

No.

Having everyone in pretty much the school hate & make fun of you is not entertainment.
Being depressed about this (even slightly) is not entertainment.

Having pretty much nobody in school like you, being unsure of who to trust, as was the case for most of my teens..... not entertainment.

Anyway.... my point? To.. well.. present the arguments against the fact that it's something you should take seriously.

If anyone else wants to talk about bullying, feel free to do so, (since that's what the title's about).

You've got to learn to laugh at yourself. I'm not saying the bully isn't being a dick, but if you laugh along with him and try to be nice to him, he'll stop bothering you, because, well, he'll know it's not bothering you.

Look, sorry to hear about this but really, ignore the people that dislike you and just enjoy spending time with the people that like you.
If someone hurts you, just fuckin hurt them back. I mean, if there's a group of them and only you it's understandable if you don't want to but if it's just one guy being a cock then hurt them back!
In fact, bullying back a bully can sometimes even bring about a mutual respect between you two. I'm not kidding. When I was like 12 ...maybe 13, some guy at the top of the school who was like 16 hit me. I hit him back, only in the face Razz and yeah he was pissed off and confronted me, I was obviously scared shitless but then in the end he kinda left me alone and I never had any trouble from him again.

A year or two later, some guy was annoying me and he shoved me into a locker so I shoved him back and we started to have some fight in the middle of the hallway and eventually we were both in serious pain and we just stopped and from then on we were like, not exactly friends but people who were okay with each other. That same guy actually knocked out one of my teeth Razz (it was already loose lol)

But yeah, the point is.. don't let this stuff get to you. If someone offends you, ignore them and stick beside people who care about you.
If someone hurts you, hurt that mother f*cker back!

Nothing else you can really do in a dog eat dog world.

There will ALWAYS be someone in a certain school trying to act the hardman and pick on what he perceives to be "weak".

When I first started secondary school some fool kept giving me stick, hitting me when I walked past him and overall thinking he was the cheese.

Come time for P.E, I was walking through the hall on my way to get changed and he kicked a football/soccer ball at cracked me right in the back of the head. What did I do? I picked up a Hockey stick, proceeded toward him and smashed him right in the face which, unsurprisingly, broke his nose and left him with two black eyes. After that I started to do boxing in school,no harm in learning a bit of self-defence.

Moral of the story? Grow a pair and fight the fuck back.

PostSubject: Re: Being Bullied in IRL   Being Bullied in IRL EmptyTue Nov 16, 2010 4:58 pm

I was bullied alot when I moved back to Nova Scotia for two grades(grade 5 and 6, both were elementary school).Mainly because I was best friends with a guy who was picked on all the time.Majority of the time the bullying did not bother me at all.Only times that pissed me off is when they start chucking ice balls at me while i was walking to school. But anyways, I always ignored what they said.why would I care what assholes think of me?I know reaction from bullying is different for everyone but I never saw the point of letting it bother you.

Though I learnt to stand my ground. Not run away or let them tell me where to go.Sometimes I do end up getting in a fight when I stand my ground but hey, they never bother me again.

lol I was "friends" with a guy who was....well.... the saddest person in the year. I mean, he's a nice guy and everything, I liked him but he just was you know..... well he just didn't fit in at all. He was a little childish, extremely nerdy and a bit of a loser tbh.
And because I was friends with him people kind of associated me with people like him or something. So I didn't make many more friends throughout secondary school Razz
In college though, I've made loads of new friends. It's awesome how much better college is to secondary school. No bitchiness, less packed timetable (I dont come into college until 11:20, 3 days in the week and on thursdays I dont go in till 1:00! WIN), easier to make friends, much more fun lessons, less homework, less stress, etc

Fuking Bullys are Pricks. My Mates got bullied all the time because he annoyed a little Bullys Brother because he can't defend his pussy ass.

Simple way to Get rid of these gayboys is just ignore him or annoy them then he might just get bored and stop. and Indian people are cool Cool.

Well atleast at my high school the only real bullying is hazing the freshman. But other than that there really isn't any. Most people have matured and moved on.

Dont ignore him, then they just keep doing it cos they know you wont do fuck all.

My advice is to either punch him as hard as you can in the face

or

if you arent confident in that, find out where he lives and ambush him with a 2 by 4.

I chose the first option when my time came, and trust me once they realise you can turn into a fuckin monster once pushed enough they leave you well alone.

PostSubject: Re: Being Bullied in IRL   Being Bullied in IRL EmptyFri Dec 10, 2010 7:37 am

I had a bad time with bullies in secondary school (high school) around the age of 15/16.

All I can say is turning the other cheek doesn't work. The only thing that will stop a bully is if he feels fear. Next time shit happens find the ring leader of the bullies (the one who fancies himself as the strongest) and punch him as hard as you physically can on his chin/jaw. With all the hatred behind that punch you will spark him out and he will drop to the floor like a sack of spuds I promise.

Next thing all of that bullies friends will be intimidated by you and life will become breezy. Very Happy

So true. But you don't wanna get sent out of the school. That being said you need to show you're not a pussy in some way or another. A good thing to say to the bully is "why doesn't viagra not work on you? Because you need at least 10 people behind you to get hard". Razz love that joke.
But yeah, I don't think it's always the best solution to hurt the bully that much, he may be well connected and get someone to fuck you up outside of school. But at the same time, they won't want to face you again on their own.
I dunno, it's a tricky thing that depends on which person you're dealing with. But acting like a pussy really doesn't help Razz

Or just stand up to them and let them throw the first punch.Thats what I do and it works everytime. For example, last year a guy told me to walk off schrool grounds and I told him no and just stood there. Then he threw a punch at me and i gave one right back in the gut.Teachers came, broke the fight off, he got in a helluva lot of trouble and I get away.Next thing you know he never comes close to me again.Other times the bully will stand down and walk away after standing up to him

I never throw the first punch because it makes you responsible for the fight.I always use self defense

Yeah. Using violence never works. What I do (or did) is basically report it to the authorities. That's the most safe, easy and trouble-free method of keeping bullies at bay. Traditionally called "Tattling".

Seriously, there was this kid at my school who ripped my homework in half. I told on him. He got into quite serious trouble. He then slapped me in the face. I then told on him again. He got suspended.

The first guy that TRIED to bully me was suspended for a week shortly after. >=3 I just told him, "Ok, well I hope you enjoy your time off...." and then the main school office got an "anonymous" tip that this particular person was going around using racial slurs. =) After he came back, he looked right at me, and I just smiled happily. =) Oddly enough, later we became great friends in Middle School to High School. I never hated Chris, nor do I think he ever hated me. I was just the new kid, and I guess he thought it would be cool to attempt to make fun of me in front of others. He just needed to learn his place, and that I'm no one to fuck with.

PostSubject: Re: Being Bullied in IRL   Being Bullied in IRL EmptySat Dec 11, 2010 2:48 am

There was this one time, in elementary school.

A bully pulled what I thought was an actual gun and kept poking the barrel(?) at my head while I was trying to walk home from school with little bro.

I've always wondered if that gun was real or not.

It looked heavy.
