While I never have believed in sales being the way, I have to congratulate Microsoft for outselling PS3

Yep even with a 100 dollar price drop, hardware redesign, a heavily hyped exclusive (Uncharted 2), and an aggressive advertising campaign with all those commercials the 360 still outsold PS3 by over 100k. And the software sales on 360 wiped the floor with PS3. Uncharted 2 didnt even make it to the top charts. lol

I feel sorry for Bioware and Valve. Left 4 Dead 2 and Dragon Age Origins sales are pretty disappointing.

But yeah lol games don't always seem to sell that well on ps3.
One of the only exceptions is resident evil 5.

But then again, it's competing with Xbox 360's Left 4 Dead and Dead RIsing. How many zombie-based games were on ps3 at the time?

Xbox 360 is obviously the preferred console for online gamers. With the release of MW2, it's really no surprise the 360 got such a huge sales spike. It's almost like the release of Halo 3 all over again.

Next year's NPDs will be very interesting. I'm guessing both consoles will take turns in 2nd place behind the Wii. At least until Natal comes out and (if) 360 get's another price drop. Then it will probably start beating out Nintendo on a regular basis.

I think 360 is the preferred console for gamers period. Obviously the larger percentage of PS3 owners arent even gamers. Here you have this huge increase in PS3 hardware sales yet the software numbers dont reflect those hardware numbers. Software remains almost as abysmal as it was before the price drop.
