The previews from Halo Waypoint have been leading toward a DVD release for Halo Legends, and now the official announcement has been made. Kotaku reports that three SKUs of the anime will release on February 16, each with its own set of bonus features. The regular DVD will retail for $19.98, while the two-disk special edition will cost $29.98 and the Blu-Ray will be $34.99. The special edition includes:

* The Making of Halo Legends - An introduction to Halo Legends followed by a making-of segment for each episode.
* Halo: Gaming Evolved - Explaining the Halo phenomenon from its inception as an Xbox video game to a present day entertainment franchise.
* Audio Commentary with directors Frank O'Connor and Joseph Chou
* Widescreen (1.78:1)

The Blu-Ray version will also have a plot recap titled, Halo: The Story So Far. "Halo Legends offers fans stunning, new creative visions of the popular video game's expansive universe, providing added depth and perspective to these beloved characters and thrilling environments," said Halo director Frank O'Connor in the press release. "Halo Legends is a perfect complement to the game's growing canon of ancillary entertainment options."
