360 Slim Rumors Gain More Traction

ahh, for many reasons i hope microsoft doesn't go through with this, im scared that if they try to pack the 360's cpu and gpu in to a smaller case then it will increase red ring again, i mean not that i want them to not make a slim but they are having a hard time with the case that holds the 360 now! i know there are ways to shrink the die size of both cpu and gpu but idk if it will work as well for the 360 as it is for the ps3. i would much rather see a price drop on current consoles then a slim!

Sorry, but did you even think about your post at all.......a slim 360, say 2/3 the size of the current 360, would cut cost by about 1/3 as well with less plastic and smaller chips. With a chip that small, an average sized fan could keep it cool by pulling air directly out of the back of the 360. A SLIM 360 WOULD CUT COSTS FOR MS AND THERE WOULD MOST LIKELY BE A PRICEDROP AS WELL ($20-$50 cut).

i bet ps3 fanboys will be so butt-hurt if its true and say M$ copyed sony when sony copyed everybody

i dont think slim will be released or created and if it is then i wont buy it .... because my 360 works awsome

The bigger picture is the potential consumer base.

If the console is well built and reliable I'll buy one and sell my current Elite for one. I have a Modern Warfare 2 and another Arcade already.

I would never sell an Elite. The 360 is fine the way it is. But if it does happen then good for MS because they get more customers (perhaps). But you guys also gotta think, MS never made a Slim version of the original Xbox.

The Xbox 360 was on the market long enough for a slim. The Xbox 360 is likely to sell as long as the PS2 did so a Slim would help cut costs and appeal to new customers. Sony only jumped the gun on their PS3 Slim becuase they were losing so much money and nobody was buying.

I think at this point a 360 slim is a forgone conclusion. What I want to know is what the outside will look like. Will it look like a smaller Xbox 360 or will it have an all new design? Will it be white or black or come in both?
