Halo: ODST and Reach install question.

I heard you aren't suppose to install Halo 3 to the HDD because of some cache thing the game does with the HDD. What about ODST and Reach? Would installing ODST and Reach to the HDD be bad like Halo 3?

I never heard Halo 3 was bad for the HDD. I had Halo 3 installed, then I had ODST and the MP disc installed and had no problems. But idk about Reach, seeing as how it isn't out yet.

Halo 3 install is bad because the game relies on caching from the HDD to run, and that goes for the Halo 3 multiplayer disc. It will increase load times. ODST and Reach on the other hand can be installed to the hard drive without any extra load times because Bungie managed to fix the problem.

Yeah thats why ODST is on 2 discs.

Halo 3 used a special feature where the game could use the HDD for faster data caching to reduce load times and make the game less slow. I think ODST still does this since it runs on the same engine, but Reach will probably be differebt,
