anyone else notice the large ammount of mario clones this year? mod racer nations,that one sega game.and i believe theres something on XBL

Sony hasn't always cloned. Just a lot more in this gen with Move and such. But just because MNR is a kart racer means it is a clone? So that means something like Halo is a clone of James Bond Goldeye or Wolfenstien 3D?

I'm not going to comment on MNR because I have not played it, but so many things that Sony has done this generation has been a copy of what the competition has done.
Move is just the first one. Then there's all those XBL features that Sony implemented to PSN after XBL had it since launch. I mean come on, have they done one original thing this generation?

Well no they haven't done anything real original. And I am not really supporting Sony for this, but everyone has had their share of copying. But taking and tweaking features from live isn't really considered copying (or atleast I don't) because that is just how the buisness world works. I mean look at fast food, every now has a value menu since McDonalds has had their $1 menu, that is just how it is and how it will be.

And MNR is a lot different then Mario Kart. I had the beta, and it totally takes the idea of kart racing and blows it out of the water. If anything it would be closer to a copy of LBP because of it's Play, Create, Share thing.

Yeah I half agree with you and half agree with everyone else.

I do think Sony clones a lot of stuff but in some cases like ModNation racers, it becomes greater than the thing it copies. So isn't that kind of acceptable? I mean I don't think Natal is a clone of Eyetoy like a lot of ps3 fanboys say but even if it were, you would say that it doesn't matter because it's a billlllion times better.

So yeah, ModNation Racers isn't a clone. The sega racers game is but ModNation isn't. It may be inspired by it but it's an entirely new game with excellent new features that Nintendo wished they'd put in Mariokart. It's more like LBP with cars.

As for Move, I have to say it's a total rip-off of the wii controller without a doubt.

Hello guys i think your mistaking copying and Similarity. So now Sonic is a copy cat of Mario because they are both platformers? Sony and Microsoft are copying Nintendo because of the new stride to bring casual to there console? No not really. Its like saying Burger King copied McDonalds because they also have fries on the menu. Like DDD said its more of an impairment. Lets not just throw anything of the back at a company you don't like. The trophy system was implemented a few years back like Ozsem said but was limited to a few games. I think all games support it now. But its fair to say that trophies is a direct clone of achievements.

PS3 Move -> Wii controls
Trophies -> Achievements

PS1 controller had no rumble or thumb stick. Then N64 launches, they add rumble and 2 thumb sticks. hmm............

You know what's stupid about that? There's nothing that Move can do that Wii Motion Plus can't. But Natal is such an advanced piece of technology/software that it can do things that Eyetoy can never do. If Natal is an upgraded Eyetoy than the Space shuttle is an upgraded bottle rocket.
