Yes that is very true. Sony will eventually kick Microsoft's ass in terms of exclusives, I reckon. (not library size, just the amount they get per year)

Of course. I'm just saying, though, that M$ really needs more studios or to make the studios they have make more games. I mean, $500 million on Kinect advertising?! I would rather they spent some of that on a new IP. I don't care how much Kinect sells... to me all that is is fanboy bragging rights.
In fact, sales-related stuff is more like fanboy bragging rights in my opinion. More exclusives = more games. I'd rather have more games than have my system sell more than another.

I agree with that, but they really need more powerful in-house studios, they only have Rare, Lionhead and Turn10 at this point (we haven't seen the work of the other studios they own)

I would find it hilarious if Kinect bombs and Microsoft fails to make back what they spend on advertising.

If that was the case though atleast it might make them realise they have a perfectly good core fanbase and go back to making good stuff for people like us.

They bought out Rare and their IPs for 375 million dollars.

I seriously can't believe they spent significantly more money marketing a peripheral than buying a 1st party studio.

Maybe there is more to Kinect than meets the eye.

well in their defense kinect could be as big as Wii was from 2006-2009

Ugh, this piece of news actually pissed me off alot

With a budget like that, Microsoft could have made at least 10 new exclusive core games. This honestly make me want to fucking burn down the MS HQ

So if Kinect only had a $100 million dollar budget would that make you feel better?

Well it's nice that they have the money to advertise this product. Ironically a couple days ago we had some Burger King, and on the french fries' carton it had an advertisement for Kinect. I can see this working out for them.
