lol microsoft are greedy but at the end of the day, there is no product like it so people who want it cannot settle for a cheaper alternative if they wanted to.

Because they are making about $100 profit on each unit and this is way to much especially considering a lot of people are not buying Kinect purely because of the pricepoint.

Because they are making about $100 profit on each unit and this is way to much especially considering a lot of people are not buying Kinect purely because of the pricepoint.

You would think it would be more profitable if they lowered the price. Yeah, they'd be making less money per unit, but they'd be selling a hell of a lot more. I guess they're just really confident in their $500 million budget (as they should be).

Well they were forced to. Look at the chatpad thing they have. I'm not sure if it's gone down in price or not but it cost $50 when it did, when the one for the 360 which is more convenient only cost $20. And a lot of people got it because, well, no voice mail.

The 360 one varies in price. I've seen them standalone for $30, but I've also seen one that comes with a headset for $30. Still, both chatpads overpriced in my opinion.
