Sorry, I meant 'too' atmospheric. Like how DOOM 3 tried to be scary by making the game dark, except it just made it frustrating.

No the "Oh god" was aimed at the comment about how reviewers are bribed.

I didn't like Alan Wake because the actual gameplay wasn't all that exciting. It felt tacked on and in that case I'd rather they just strip the gameplay from it entirely and do something like Penumbra or Amnesia.

Story wasn't amazing but it was solid.

Ever wondered how only mygamer.com and PCGamer (first one is independent critic website and the second one is a magazine-based PC magazine--and we all know IW has ironically thrown alot of shit at PC gamers, so they don't care about what they think) gave MW2 less than 85? It's because they realized their game was nonsensical cheap frustrating shit and they didn't want to do anything about it so they used their massive monees to buy them some scores .

Sometimes you have to avoid a gamer shitstorm too... If Halo Reach had gotten the 8 it DESERVED, the 360 gaming community would've been up in arms. Sometimes reviewers are way too nice, and with a lot of exclusives they're EXTREMELY nice.

Give me a fucking break. Just because you didn't like Alan Wake, it doesn't mean that other people don't like it and it doesn't mean that Remedy or Microsoft paid reviewers to rate it AA. Jeez your sounding like a PS3 fanboy at Gametrailers.com who accused Microsoft of paying GT to give GOTY 2009 to MW2 and not Uncharted 2.

And as for that PS3 quip, it's all pot and kettle business. Just look at the number of people bitching that Reach wasn't GOTY.

Oprah giving out Kinect was part of the $500 million marketing budget. If Microsoft tried to pay off the reviewers, you would think they would buy it AAA status, not 82 or whatever it holds on metacritic. If you actually bothered to read the review, you would know that the opinions are completely justified, its really easy to tell when someone is forced into saying something that they dont believe in, and this wasnt the case with Alan Wake.

As for the Reach GOTY, I didn't see a single comment from a 360 supporter saying that Sony paid IGN and all the "Reach" comments were from people giving their own personal top 5 lists, not bitching. Far from the shitstorm that PS3 fanboys caused a few years ago

OK, first of all:

A) M$ has bigger IPs to take care of. They wanted Alan Wake to be at least 85-100 so it'd be a decent reason to buy the Holiday bundle.

B) If M$ payed all the reviewers to give their games AAA, wouldn't it seem... suspicious?

C) I hate the PS3. I can't possibly be a fanboy.
