If it goes on for longer. You may have heard LG were trying to ban PS3s in US. They have succeeded in securing a 10 day ban for Europe. They want to extend it so the ban goes longer. This can potentially stop PS3s from being on store shelves in Europe. LG want compensation in millions of pounds for every PS3 sold worldwide.
Naturally I can't see this going on for too long. But the fact that LG pulled this off is cause for concern. Especially when it wasn't even reported Europe was in their firing line. But, pretend for a minute that they succeed and PS3 did get banned in Europe.
Why do I think it will effect Sony? Because of the amount of time it took for the PS3 to be profitable. I'm not trying to chant PS3 doom theories. This is seriously cause for concern. If LG succeed and Sony are forced to fork out they could lose profits made on the system.
Whats the funniest thing of all about this? The one argument PS3 fanboys use against the 360 (the blu-ray space) is whats causing all this hassle. Sony should have thought about retaliation from LG before they did this mobile phone blocking. PS3 fanboys like you to think that Sony planned out for the future with blu-ray disc space and yet its caused the PS3 nothing but trouble since the word go. Its one of the factors the PS3 was so expensive at launch and now LG is seizing stock because of the Blu-ray drive.
