Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony Review. TBoGT for short.- PlotYour not gay, even if you can think bearing to the title of this "game". You play as the business-partner to Gay Tony, or Tone as hes called most of the time. You star as Luis Lopez, a about 30 years old Dominican working as partner and bouncer at the clubs that Tony owns.
Tony has running clubs in Liberty City for a very long time, since 1987. But he got himself in to some bad connections and a lot of borrowed money. Your job is to get you and your partners work up on its feet again, to get there you will meet person know from the original game and TLaD: Niko, Brucie and many more. You will also meet Brucie's older brother, an "orange steroid midget" according to Luis.
You will come across the diamonds once again and finally know what happens to them, a product from the main and TLAD stories.
- GameplayThe gameplay is based on the GTA4 engine and not to many changes to it, so mostly its buisness as usual. Somethings have been enhanced to it for example helicopter driving and base-jumping, base-jumping a new fun way to get around
. Basicly you get in to very high buildings and use a parachute when you get to the top, this is a mayor part of the games missions.
More weapons have been added making the game even more complete, some of them are great such as: The fully automatic shotgun that can fire exploding ammo (not the "DAO12" shotgun from TLAD). A new pistol even more powerful then the Desert Eagle this comes in very handy some times. The M249 Saw or "Mini-mi" if you like, a 200 rounds machine-gun
. New silenced SMG, also know as the P90 in common mouth, very accurate and quite, makes perfect for killing quitely.
They've added even more stuff, "drug wars": is a kind of a side missions where you help your brothers to get total domination of the drugs in Liberty City, quite boring as most of them are the same: Kill some people, get the drugs, go back to the storage.
Another thing is: LC Cage Fightclub, a very hard fighting ring. Here you fight people to win money and eventually the LC Cage Trophy. It gets very hard as you get to higher fights the opponents get to use weapons, such as bats and knives. Some of the contenders are based on real characters, for example Kimbo, the famous "streetfighter".
- MusicThe music is brilliant in this game, more tracks and stations have been added, most of them to match the more "disco/clubing", its very good and gives the "Vice City feel". If you have bought the "episodes from liberty city" you get another radio station.
- MultiplayerSome things have been added for example the new weapons and basejump party, not to many other things.
- Replayability, Is it worth it?Its a very good game and the the prize of 1200ms makes it a bargain, ive been playing for about 11 and have completed just about 100% of the main story. As GTA4 is packed with other things and a very solid multiplayer mode. Its packed with other stuff to keep you occupied to up to 20 hours at-least excluding multiplayer.
I recommend it, especially if you buy the: Episodes from Liberty City pack.
