BBC Loves (He thinks they're phenomenal) Factual Ok Games!

BBC (aka a PS3 fanboy) thinks games like Afrika (Hakuna Matata) which scored a 29/40 from Famitsu is phenomenal. He also thinks Magnacarta 2 which received a 68 from Metacritic is incredible. As well as the original Magnacarta which received a 67 on Metacritic and by the way Magna Carta: Tears of Blood and Magnacarta 2 received mixed reviews. So technically factually (like he always says) they are ok game. But he talks about how Star Ocean is ok when The Last Hope received a 34/40 for Famitsu.

I shall take reviews from these Wikipedia pages to show you:

Magna Carta (PS2): Reviews of Magna Carta: Tears of Blood were mixed, the game averaging a 67% on Gamerankings.com. Critics generally praised the game's story, musical score, and "beautiful environments and fantastic character designs." However, its core gameplay elements were less well received. Gamespot gave the game a 7.1 out of 10, claiming the "well-developed cast of characters keeps the story interesting" but its "extremely linear campaign feels restrictive at times." IGN's review stated that "the poorly-executed battle system ... runs into too many problems for its own good," scoring the game a 6.1/10. The game's voice acting in particular was heavily criticized, with negative comments ranging from "the performances are really uninspired"to "Ill-timed, badly-acted, and poorly cast.

Magnacarta 2: The game received generally middling reviews from critics, earning an aggregate Metacritic score of 68. IGN criticized the battle system stating, "this feels almost archaic and could have been run on a PS1, enemy AI is almost non-existant and character abilities are generic." Robert Townslend of Game Informer said, "While the story starts off having the potential to be great, it quickly degrades into the same old story of a young man with no memories saving a kingdom. This has only been done thousands of times in other games."

Afrika: Famitsu scored the game 29/40, while Dengeki PlayStation scored the game 70/85/90/90 (all out of 100).

This Game is Factually Good:
Star Ocean The Last Hope: Famitsu awarded the game a total of 34/40, composed of a 9/9/8/8 score.

Overall, the game was far better received than Square Enix's other next-gen console RPGs such as Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant, both of which had mixed reviews from critics. IGN awarded the game a score of 8.0. In its review, IGN stated that despite the rough pacing in the storyline that could be told in a much more engaging manner, tri-Ace and Square-Enix's latest RPG holds together quite well with action-packed gameplay. Some of the small annoyances encountered during the game was the disc-swapping, which requires players to do just that if they need to travel to previous locations. The review also feels that the Japanese voice track should have been included as an option in the US version, as the English voice track and lip-synching are horrendous. X-Play gave The Last Hope 4 out of 5 stars, stating that the story is epic, engaging and well-paced from start to finish, and combat is frantic, complex and smooth. X-Play stated bad voice acting, and objectives that aren't always clear to lead the player, as the downsides of the game. TeamXbox awarded the game with a score of 8.5, praising the balanced and addictive combat which allows the player to bring both strategy and gaming skill to the fray. The Official Xbox Magazine gives a score of 8.5, citing the addictive mix of combat, quests and storyline as a plus, but criticizes the long stretch of cutscenes and a lack of save points around.

So he bashes games like say Sonic, but when games like Magnacarta 1 and 2 and Afrika get ok reviews (for Afrika it is ok-good) he says they are phenomenal. He talks about games being factually bad-ok... but with these games I listed... he says they are phenomenal. Is his logic questionable?

BTW,StarOcean:The Last Hope is the most STUPID JRPG i have honestly played.FF is better(and thats coming form someone who doesnt like FF)

it's his opinion kendo you can't change it. Just forget the bbc stuff and move on.

To like a game doesnt mean the the critics have to like it, for example most movies that are good get bad reviews. While well received movies get decent ratings from people.

Yeah that's true but Kendo's got a point. If this guy claims that these games are amazing why should we believe him when he says ps3 is amazing?
