| In this thread post stuff most people dont know about things in gaming, for example where a thing comes from or is named after. For example: Cortana in the Halo series is named after a ceremonial shortsword called Curtana. Its origin is the latin word: Curtus, the means "shorten". This is from the "broken" appearances the the sword shows. During the 12th c. the Danish viking: Ogier the Dane wielded a sword with the inscription: "My name is Cortana, of the same steel and temper as Joyeuse and Durendal."  Joyeuse: was the ceremonial sword of Charlemange (Charles the Great). The name is joyful in french. Durendal: is the sword of Charlemange's first Paladin, this sword has fragments of it inside a stonehouse wall, the name means: "durer" or to endure Others: In Final Fantasy XI, the Curtana is a sword used to spawn a Notorious Monster in Ve'Lugannon Palace. | |

I thought it was Jump Man It was gonna be Mr. Video until they changed it to Jump Man. Miyamoto says that if chosed Mr. Video, he likely would have "disappeared off the face of the Earth". | |

| Sweet. Didn't know about the Cortana/Curtana thing Err I have no info tbh... errm except that the reason the guys behind Crackdown are keeping it exclusive to Xbox 360 is because they prefer the controller xD | |
