Welcome to the review of Splinter Cell Conviction. The best thing since well, the last Splinter Cell.
- Gameplay
The gameplay has been dramatically changed this time around. New mechanics such as ''Mark & Execute'' and that handy one which makes absolutely no sense, the one where you move, your outline stays, and the AI is to much of a dumbass to figure out that it was just an outline. Nonetheless, the gameplay feels very slick but the Mark & Execute makes it all to easy to eliminate your enemies. I often found myself playing without that for the simple fact that the game was way to easy with it. The game also gives you some big guns to use. Stealth games and their big guns, whatever happened to Metal Gear Solid 3? Tranquilizers are where its at. Anyways thats off-topic. Your guns are very upgradeable through points you gain by eliminating your enemies with melee combat. Thats also how you recharge your Mark & Execute. Sam Fischer has also become extremely skilled for some strange reason. He practically glides while ''Cliff Hanging'' which again, makes no sense. Hell, if Snake can't do it, Sam sure as hell can't. But thats also off-topic. The stealth kills are still very fascinating to watch and the overall game just seems a lot more fluent.
An 8.9/10
- Graphics/Art
The graphics in this game have been extremely improved over the last Splinter Cell. You can almost see the sweat dripping down Sam's face, the way his face glistens in the sun, or night, whatever floats your boat. The game looks great and and is definitely one of the better looking titles on the 360. They definitely did a great work with the lighting this time and you can practically see the shadow of enemies which ends up being extremely useful when an enemy is behind a door. Get 'em with the backsmack. Halo reference. Again, off-topic.
9.3/10
- Music/Sound
The music in this game is what you would expect in a stealth game. Creepy, ''theatrical'' music. You won't really be listening to the music for the simple fact that you'll be to busy ''drumming'' the enemy to pieces. See what I did there? No? Too bad.
7.0/10
- Multiplayer/Online (if any)
The game features a variety of modes but the one that stands out the most has to be the Co-Op campaign. Its amazing and features a plot twist at the end that will have your jaw-dropped for a week or so. It also has game modes you'd expect like hunter which is basically a remake of Horde mode, Face Off, Horde + Against your friends, Infiltration = Horde + Stealth, and Last Stand = Search And Destroy.
10/10
- Replayability
I'd say give it a 2nd go around if you really liked the story but thats about it.
