Exclusives=good

Why does every fanboy (360/ps3/wii) talk about how they have a certain exclusive? I mean be real, most exclusive for a console are made by the makes the console which basically gives that company all the gain. Other developers are losing money by making thier games exclusive (Uncharted with Nuaghty Dog). I think alot of 360 owners would by uncharted if there was a xbox port which seems like a good idea instead of losing money by keeping their game exclusive and vice versa (ME2 on ps3). and just think with all the extra money they make allows them to push better production of future sequals like RE4 being released on ps3. Honestly exclusives sound like a bad idea unless you own the console which the exclusive is for like mario for nintendo and halo for xbox. Is there actually a good reason to make an exclusive? also not a troll

Some company are just loyal. Learning to program a game on two(possible 3) differant consols takes time out of actual developement. Some developers are only good with consol anyways, look at the orangebox from valve, it was only good on the pc version.

portals was good and half-life2 was good too on xbox. this is more of an aurgument for ps3 saying xbox has no exclusives when producing games on more that 1 console generally means more money and should yield better products.

Alot more goes into exclusives then you might think, why did valve suddenly jump ship from being a microsoft/pc developer to being a ps3/pc developer. I don't know the details but I am sure alot more goes into it then you might think.

Some game IP's are owned by MS, Sony, ect. And if I owned the rights to a good game I would want it to be on my console, not my competitions console. Thats what sells consoles, the exclusives.

is it me or we are seeing less exclusive games

Exclusives usually have better quality and thats what makes them better than multiplats. Also they dont have to spend extra money for all of the different systems and being an exclusive means more people will be interested in it.

They're not automatically better than multiplats, but exclusive developers do know their way around their system pretty well. I'm sure Bungie knows the Xbox 360 architecture better than Treyarch, and I'm sure Naughty Dog knows the PS3 architecture better than DICE. No, they don't have to spend extra money for all of the different systems, but they are usually funded the the company that made the system (unless they're third-party, which is becoming much less prevalent these days).
