I agree that Killzone, GTA, and Final Fantasy could be considered overrated, but completely disagree with Halo being overrated. In my opinion Halo is underrated and all PS3 fanboys should sell their PS3s so they can play Halo.

I think Gran Turismo is highly overrated. Maybe it's becuase I like arcade style racers more than sims, but I've always thought that GT fans have overhyped the games beyond their worth. Good games, but not the best. Forza shits on GT. I actualy enjoy playing Forza 3 but find Gran Turismo a complete snore fest.

The most overrated Ive seen is Legend of zelda,Metroid,Mario,killzone,grand theft auto and above all FINAL FANTASY series.

Halo, GTA, Call of Duty, Gran Turismo, Gears of War, MGS, and Half Life. Those I think are all over rated

none no series is overated

Metal Gear Solid. Movie length cutscenes? screw you Kojima.
But I've played MGS4 and it honestly did not deserve 10/10

My most overrated game series would probably be final fantasy.

personally, I have not played Metal Gear Solid 4 yet, since I haven't gone next gen

I have always viewed Metal Gear Solid as more than a game, and closer to a cinematic experience, the characters, music, cut scenes, it all adds up to one breathtaking climax, and gets your emotions pounding

sitting through hour long cut scenes, will only draw me closer into that movie-like experience, until the movie comes out, it's the closest thing we got to a Metal Gear film I reckon

then again some people prefer gameplay > cutscenes, I see no problem with that

to call it overrated is a joke though, just looking at the critical acclaim the series has had, plus it practically invented the stealth genre

i'm not a gamer as such, so I wouldn't really call any series overrated, what I will about Final Fantasy though, Nobuo Uematsu has created some of the most beautiful soundtracks ever made

I agree the Mario franchise has been milked to death and then some. But the "real" Mario games (Mario Bros 1-3, World, Wii) are few, far in between, and pure gold IMO.

Halo 2 came out in 2004.

Halo 3: ODST and Halo Wars, two spin offs both came out 2 years after Halo 3 in 2009. Again that's not milked.

Halo: Reach comes out in 2010 about 3 years after 2007's Halo 3. Once again that's not milked.

When you compare Halo to other popular franchises like Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, etc. Halo is clearly not milked like they are.

MS and Bungie have been making Halo games are a rather slow pace compared to most large franchises.

QFT and ill say it again underated and overated are meaningless terms that varies from person to person anyways if you mean popular games i feel arnt as good as people say GOD OF WAR WINS HANDS DOWN
