They didn't give it a low score because of the lack of multiplayer. Rofl.

Alan Wake is potential. So far many reviewers have been giving it either low 9s or high 8s. It's like Uncharted 1 in that respect. Uncharted 1 was a great game but it had some problems that was holding it back. 1 or 2 years later they release Uncharted 2 that had fixed the problems that was in the first game and it was universally acclaimed and was GOTY.

Considering the fact that Alan Wake is already the one of the best looking console games all they need to do is make a sequel using the same engine but fixing stuff like animations and cliche characters.

I don't think there will be a sequel anytime soon. Microsoft said they plan to do episodic content and the form of like a Season 2 since the game is structured like a TV show.
