Still a 4 million sales gap and this will definitely expand as the 360 is outselling ps3 worldwide and will continue through with Kinect.

Well technically these are shipped consoles, not sold. And on VGchartz, the 360 is ahead by 5.3 million.

lol firstly, sony is the corporation, not a system. It can't outsell a system.

The ps3 will not outsell the 360. If it ever does outsell 360, it will be by the end of the generation when no one cares anymore.

Even if the ps3 did outsell the xbox 360, that's just one aspect. You're forgetting 360 is also winning in games library and online experience.

Nothing much will change if it happens.The PS3 fanabse didnt change that much when the 360 slim came out and they couldnt use the "360 has bad hardware" excuse

I didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea, I'm no PS fanboy.

Just I see that they may finally get hold of 2nd position and considering Sony was first for 2 generations the name itself would have finally worked in their favor eventually.

It'll be interesting to see what MS try and do to combat the numbers world wide, price drops perhaps? Looking at this from a corporations perspective MS have won in their own race as they outsold the XBOX (original) & have such an awesome attach rate which will only grow (imo). They may be content as a corporation unless they want more numbers that is.

This could be good and we may yet see MS' golden age of gaming to come this generation.

good try but they are still in dead last with 3.6 million,.probably 4 million by now with the new 360 model and temporary pride drops on original 360's. It did good damage because of the new form factor that they always do every gen and $100 hefty price cut. But now they don't have that anymore and 360 has that now so the gap will grow back.

im not a PS3 fanboy so dont take this the wrong way, im just saying how i feel but i do think that the PS3 will at least tie with the 360 because the slim didnt give the 360 a big boost and who will pay 150 for kinect? And i dont think the PS3 will pass the 360 because MOVE will not sell very well (obviosly) and reach will give the 360 a bigger boost than GT5 will (again obviosly *prepares to get banned* silent

I think everyone who isn't a mod gets a little paranoid over the ban hammer from time to time. I got banned once for stating that I had no interest at all in Kinect or Project NATAL as it was known at the time because I thought that it was only going to have games to accommodate the casual crowd. I guess I was right.

I Agree. And last gen I totally respected the Gamecube fans because they admitted they were last place and continued to enjoy their console unlike PS3 fanboys who are the polar opposite.
