I'll go ahead and start this off, you can ahead finish it up alright.

Actually it's about being accepted by your peers and parents. If you look at the third verse, Its stating that boys father, doesn't want his son to show him anything (or acknowledge him based on his accomplishments).

And that thing, or I should say person, was his new friend. That was spoken of in the first verse.

Pay very close attention from verses 4-end, to figure out the rest of the song. And figure out what these mean: "cracked but not broken," and "broken."
