Review for Geometry wars 2 XBLA Empty
PostSubject: Review for Geometry wars 2 XBLA   Review for Geometry wars 2 XBLA EmptyFri Sep 25, 2009 12:18 am

This is a expansion of the first geometry wars with new enhanced gameplay and new added features. the game itself is a astriod style games but with many different types of enimies and game modes. This game also has great graphics and a great soundtrack.

-Gameplay
very good 6 different games use different styes of playing the game for all people. very addicting nonstop game there are no stages you keep going till you die and try to get the highest score. Simple controls to LS moves RS shoot and the trigger deploy a bomb.
- Graphics/Art
pretty good looks kinda fuzzy compared to the last game but still good its a game where you shoot shapes so it does have to do much explosion from the enimies look spectacular when dealing with a lot of enimies but the grid backround and overflow of enimies can make you lose track of your ship if your not careful.warping effects from the background look great from bombs or explosions.
- Music/Sound
great music espicially for deadline most of the songs are a techno style which really fits the game. Bombs fade the music out for a few seconds which adds kind of a dramatic effect.
- Multiplayer/Online
has local multiplayer which seemed to be very confusing trying to track your ship down later in the game. the camera zooms out to fit the ships on the screen and makes it harder to play if your used to the zoomed in feel. No live which is kinda a dissapointment cause that would fix the focusing in local play and would add more to the game if it were in.

- Replayability
High (with competition from your friends or leaderboards)

I would rate this game a 8.9/10 because the lack of online when they have local multiplayer is knida bad they should have just added it in. The gameplay is a step up from the first game with the 6 game modes, and I like the endless style of gameplay opposed to stages. the game also seems to have an adapted difficulty for example if you start off really good they'll start to throw harder stuff at you quicker. soundtrack is great for most mode and feature the original song in the evolved game mode.

I have it for my DS, but after reading your review I might have to check it out on XBLA. The controls will definitely be better.
