Final Fantasy XIII The Fastest-Selling In The Franchise

Looks like Square-Enix's decision to port FF13 to the Xbox 360 payed off. The game would not have sold as well on only one machine. You can bet that they will continue releasing FF games as multiplats from now on.

Earlier this month Square-Enix revealed it shipped five million units of Final Fantasy XIII globally since the game's launch in Japan this past December.

The series has now sold a total of 96 million units globally since the original Final Fantasy game was released in Japan in 1987 for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Its the name that sold so many copies. Since FF X the series has went downhill, quality wise.

That's debatable. What's not debatable is how well FF13 has sold. Square is unlikely keep FF Vs 13 and FF14 PS3 exclusive.

It would madness if they stayed exclusive to the PS3/PC. Im sure both will be annouced on the 360 soon, maybe E3.

i predict sqaure will leave sony 4 M$ and make ff games 4 them like what they did with nintendo squre be dick jumping

FFXIV has already been announced for 360.

The first week sales in Japan is higher than that of the first week sales for the rest of the world for both consoles.

lol source? I think FF13VS will be on 360 SE did a solid job porting FF13 to the 360. FF14 is an MMO and it would take too much time to port to 360 and set up the servers etc...

Don't think so as they have sold more on the PS3 and being a Japanese game and the Xbox install base in Japan small compared to PS3, I can't see it happening not this generation at least, to much loyalty to Japanese fans, where these games sell millions

maybe you're right but at the end of the day, I'm not bothered because 360 is getting The Secret World which I think looks awesome (mmo) and I would take it over FF anyday!

dont know y square enix would come to us exclusively

Multiplats sell more than exclusives. This is why this has happened.

Agreed. But I liked XII and XIII =/.

XII: was ok but I didnt much care for the gambits.

X-2: wasn't bad in my opinion but who the hell wants to play Final Fantasy X-2 Spice Girls? A group of 3 girls from a rock band? Gimme a break

lol the gambits, I set it up perfectly so I never had to do a thing other than move around. They attacked the enemies weaknesses, healed, everything. But by that time the only remaining mission was to beat the sub boss with 50 million health.
