fall 2011 would be the 6th year mark of the 360. PERFECT TIMING. Halo Reach and Gears are only games to tide us over until then, which I believe they can, combined with 3rd party games offcourse.
For a reference, the PS2 launched 6 years after PS1.........and PS3 launhced 6 years after the PS2. Lol what? Are you forgetting Kinect/the X360 slim. Microsoft considered it the "relaunch" of the Xbox 360. If they release a console next year it's going to overshadow anything about the X360 and Kinect which Microsoft have invested heavily on.
I say they will announce the new Xbox at E3 2012 and will launch at 2013 at earliest. This generation isn't like last generation where the console maxed out pretty quickly. It's getting to the point where software development exceeds hardware limitations. They will support both.MS have said that even next gen they will support th 360,Like sony did with the ps2 this generation.
The xbox "relaunch" could just help keep the console alive for when the next xbox is released. Wonderful. So now I have to buy a new console because the one I bought for my hardcore gaming needs ended up being turned into a casual machine . . . that's basically what I'm getting from this.
I want Microsoft to support their damn console and not make me buy a new one. Lol its always one extreme or the other.........why cant the 360 appeal to casuals AND hardcore? I think thats more then possible. And show some damn restraint.....I didnt buy a 360 until April of 2007. Wait a year or so before buying the next gen.

The xbox "relaunch" could just help keep the console alive for when the next xbox is released. They are going to "SUP PORT" the Xbox 360 after the new console releases. Meaning they are probably going to port early next gen titles onto the X360 every once and a while. While the new console gets all the 1st party support from Microsoft. Once the new console releases there won't be anymore Xbox 360 exclusive games I can tell you that. Still, I don't want to see a new Xbox until E3 2012 at earliest. I'm sorry, they just can't have full-blown support for BOTH systems. They are already having to deal with the whole hardcore/casual delimma with the xbox 360 and kinect. I just don't see it happening, especially with how small the 1st party development team is.

| My guess is we'll see a new console from Microsoft winter 2013 and Sony 2014. I hope this gen goes on even longer then that, but I doubt it. | |

| personally kinect and the 360 slim is just there to keep 360 going until its 10th year. I predict MS will follow the Sony schedule and launch their next console 6 years after the last. With 360 launching 4 years after Xbox 1 thats a considerable improvement Kinect however is too important to just keep in this gen. It could very well be included in every next gen Xbox..............which could be very important to its early growth as 3rd party developers can make 360/next Xbox kinect games and get revenue from both consoles. either way its over a year from now and we have 0 obligation to buy launch consoles. | |

either way its over a year from now and we have 0 obligation to buy launch consoles. Specially with Microsoft's...track record with launch consoles this gen , but as a matter of fact, its always better to wait at least a year or two like you did. Next gen, i wont trust any company enough to buy a console at launch. Nintendo is supposed to make sturdy hardware and some launch Wiis never detected the Wii motes :/
