Gears of War III delayed until Autumn 2011

Developers say that all the time. Remember when Hideo Kojima said that Metal Gear Solid 4 maxed out the PS3? A year or so later, the PS3 had games that made MGS4 look last-gen. It's developer propaganda. They know that half their audience are graphics whores so they got to appeal to them in some way.

Yea, they fixed those though a couple months later.

Gears 2 at it's current state isn't THAT bad online. It's definantely muccchhh better than when it first released. Gears 3 just needs a better netcode and actual host-server migration to combat lag.

No consoles have ever been maxed out.

Besides it's the developers that limit themselves not the consoles. Look at Super Mario Galaxy, you can fucking jump on little planets.

I don't see that shit in Gears, Uncharted, Killzone, and Crysis.

There regular release windows for Gears games is 2 years. It's not fine for me, I have to wait longer to play the GOTY for 2011.

why? gears 1 and 2 were AAA games. This game took longer to make then the previous 2 year dev cycle for gears 1/2.

At the very least itll be the most "successful" console exclusive of 2011.

what just so it can sell better?! for fuck theres no game coming like gears 3 in Q1 sso they might as well done it then and there

The Xbox 360 has 16 upcoming exclusives and most of them come from well known developers like Capcom and Crytek. There are also a shit ton of Japanese-made games in development and Japanese developers have a history of making really awesome games.

I still think Gears 3 will blow away every game coming out that year.

Theres KZ3 and LBP2. I doubt they would have overshadowed Gears 3 though.

True. If there is anything that could inflict damage on Gears 3 sales would be titles like a GTA V or other game from Rockstar (maybe Agent).
Either way the most reasonables explanations are that they either fucked up something in development and need more time or are aiming for the Christmas sales boost, like the previous titles.

this year is the 360s home stretch year (2011). ill still stay on the market like ps2 is now, but the next xbox will IMO be released fall of 2011. 6 years is plenty of time by yourself. time for the next wave.

If anything Gears 3 will be 360/next xbox launch title with better graphics and new modes.

If MS were planning to release a new xbox next year, wouldn't they have announced it at this years E3? I could see a possible fall 2012 release, but I doubt it.

Kinect and the Slim is basically a relaunch of the 360. I don't see the point of announcing a new console right after the sales wave of Halo Reach and Kinect.

in my opinion (i've been guilty in the past) many people are concerned by exclusives or when a console will announce a exclusive. ask yourself, if a console you dont have or own but hardly touch has a couple of exclusives coming think about if you really want to play them or not, where i think microsoft has been smart for the most part is release exclusives (or timed exclusive) games they know a lot of people will want to play and they will sell, sell plenty. not everyone in the gaming world is a ps3 fanatic, not everyone is thinking lbp2, kz3 and gt5 will be the heaven of gaming. its alright seeing these games under "exclusive" but how many are actually going to buy these three games?

as for mlds statement about the next xbox, i disagree, e3 2012 is more likely, e3 2011 will be the announcement of the final path of titles.
