No Bad Comments but, what makes Halo Great?

I have never really understood what makes Halo the best of the XBox's library. It's fun but could someone explain what makes it great. I don't know, I have never really played much of it.

Not sure, more of a Gears guy myself. (As the top franchise on the 360)

I like Gears, pretty fun, DR's my game though and SC is THE GAME FOR ME!!!

Its fun, and there really isn't any other game like it, gameplay wise. Idk, its just fun. The campaign is eh IMO. Im more of a Halo MP guy.

I actually agree with your statement. Those are my thoughts on it too. I wonder what Bungie will make with Activision. Call of Duty: Furute Warfare???

depends on what kinda gamer you are.There are so many different types of Halo players.Some just care about online,others like me dive into its story and buy all comics,novels and merchandise ect.Those are just two types btw

And at the same time,Halo is not for everyone.Alot of people like it and some dont.But thats perfectly fine

Yeah, the story is good and all but Im more of a Halo MP player. But the story is good, just I wouldn't go buying all the books.

I mean, I like other games, but even mass effect was just "go here, kill saren" with a lot of talking

since dead rising 1 wasnt that great and i know some people dont like it at all,it wont get high sales at all,i doubt it will hit 1 million or hell even 500 000 copies,halo reach is a way better game in every way but i think capcom made a bad choice releasing this game this month

Well what makes a game great?
For starters, its the flagship franchise of XBOX, like Super Mario is to Nintendo. But basically its the Halo community. It's one of the biggest in videogaming. A hell alot people like Halo, some for the story but most cuz of the MP. Its one of the best if not the best on any console, and that's not an opinion, thats a technical fact.
Sure that gonna be people who don't like Halo and others that enjoy only the "Halo experience".

Its bigger than that. Every shooter story has you killing someone. But in Mass Effect, your main goal is to stop the collectors. Not just killing Saran. That is just a part.

DR1 was awesome!!! But since Heavy Rain hit a million I bet DR2 will.

I think the gameplay style is unique and fun. The multiplayer is very simple, and the level design is fantastic (Bungie is a master of the craft). The Forge mode that was added in Halo 3 lets you construct your own maps and game types, allowing you to play beyond the realm of traditional Halo. I've played in recreations of Indiana Jones temples, a first-person version of Pong, a Boom Blox variant, and a lot of other cool games. Bungie is even improving on Forge and Custom Games, as well as adding a customizable Firefight mode to Reach.

I never cared for the story. I always thought it was presented poorly in the games, which is why I was never drawn into the universe, which I would imagine is great.

That was a pretty good game. I didn't love it like most people did, but I've gotta respect Sega for releasing a unique JRPG.
