Halo 3 Vs. KZ2 sales (With Hardware Sales Adjustment)

This article will show that Halo 3 is widely agreed to be better than Killzone 2 when you figure in that people tend to purchase what they think is better.

Lets look at the sales shall we.

In millions (Rounded Up) Just so you know rounding up was actually more favorable to the PS3 numbers.

In English:

If there were equal sales of Xbox 360 and PS3 hardware there would be 7.2 million Halo 3 sales and only 2 million Killzone 2 sales.

So:

Even with 1:1 hardware install based adjustment. Halo 3 would still outsell Killzone 2 by over 3:1.

PS3 fans like to say Halo 3 has been out longer. Well how about I go ahead and cut 7.2 million in half. That puts Halo 3 at 3.6 million sales compared to Killzone 2’s 2 million sales. But then wouldn’t it be fair to cut the Xbox 360’s install base in half from the already reduced 75%?

That would be 3.6 million Halo 3 sales to an installed base of 12 million Xbox 360s compared to 2 million Killzone 2 sales to an installed base of 24 million PS3s.

No matter how you look at it, Halo 3 outsells Killzone 2.

If you listen to PS3 fans and Brownies you’d think Killzone 2 is the greatest game of all time. If that’s true, why are so few PS3 owners buying it?

Sales tell the true story.

While Killzone 2 may be a good game, even an underrated game, people vote with their wallets. Halo 3 is the better game.

And by the looks of it. ODST is going to outsell Killzone 2 on the first day, that’s totals people.

Current players playing both KZ2 and Halo 3. Now the KZ2 is just North America alone. But if its that low here, then it will probably be even lower in other territories as well at around the same time of day.

Any PS3 fanboy that tells you that Killzone is popular, tell them they are full of a sack of goat shit!

That was the number taken around 6:30am EST this morning MLD. Everyone was sleeping.


By tonight it will be back in the 200k range. And KZ2 will probably be at 700 players tops.
